Alvin Lee Carpenter

Alvin Lee Carpenter, 85, 0f Wheelersburg went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 3, 2021. He was born March 28, 1936 in South Webster, Ohio. He graduated from South Webster High School in 1954. He served in the United states Army from January 1955 to December 1957. He graduated top of his Heavy Engineer Class and served 3 years in Germany.
Alvin loved fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. What he loved most was serving God and spending time with his family.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Lois Ann (Gibson) Carpenter; sons, Brian Carpenter and Shane (Kelley) Carpenter all of Portsmouth; daughters, Peggy (Mike) Cheek of Middletown, Anita (Benny) Napier of Indiana, Mary (Keith) Shuttleworth of Breman and Kammy Carpenter of South Carolina; brothers, Elwood Carpenter and Russell Carpenter; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Genevieve (Bays) Carpenter, a brother, Wendell Carpenter and a half-brother, Ira Bays.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday August 6, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Elwood Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
