Cheryl Kay King
Cheryl Kay King, 68, of Portsmouth, formerly of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2021 at her residence.
She was born January 22, 1953 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Kathryn Frump Lawless.
Cheryl was former employee of Golden Years Nursing Home working as a physical therapy aide and in medical records for 26 years and was a caregiver for her special nephew, Isaiah Mullen. She was a member of the Back Run House of Prayer and a 1971 Portsmouth West High School graduate.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Edward King, January 13, 1980 in Lucasville; her stepdaughter, Sherri (James) Leezer of Columbus; two stepsons, Todd E. King of Plain City and Kenny Coontz of Columbus; seven step-grandchildren; her siblings, Bobby Lawless of Palm Bay, FL, Danny (Kim) Lawless of Lucasville, Barbara (Jay McMurray) Lewis of Chillicothe, William (Ginger) Lawless of Piketon, Betty Lawless of Wheelersburg, David (Kim) Lawless of Sciotoville, John (Tammy) Lawless of Waverly, Paula Lawless of Waverly, and Garnet (Joe) Nelson of Lucasville.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Harry Meade officiating. Burial will follow in Candy Run Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
