Richard Lee Tilley

Richard Lee Tilley, 78, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Richard was born August 12, 1942 in Wheelersburg to the late William Tilley and Garnet Sophia Ketter Tilley. Richard was a high school graduate and worked in the shipping department of American Cast in Ironton; he was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and belong to Greenup Am Vets KY Post 95. When Dick got out of the military, he got our family reunion organized and is still going on since 1965. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Brett Tilley; a sister, Margy Burgess and a brother, William Tilley. He is survived by Brother Bernard Tilley (Janet) Monticello, KY, Earl Tilley (Terena) Marion, OH, Patty Keller, Minford, Bob Tilley (Sue) of Wheelersburg and several nieces and nephews and two special friends Rodney and Rhoda Whisman. Richard loved going to Nascar and stock car races and enjoyed watching football and Fox news on TV and his beloved dog, “Freddie”.

Services for Richard are 11:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Bernard Tilley officiating. Interment will be in Wheelersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, February 15, 2021 and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Tuesday.
