Gora Lee Adkins

Gora Lee Adkins, 87, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. Gora was born July 8, 1933 in Man, West Virginia to the late Ivory and Dicie Perry Adkins. Gora was a Marine veteran and served during the Korean War. He had worked as a Laborer. In addition to his parents, Gora was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Roof Adkins; a sister, Polly Mae Adkins; a son, Patrick LeRoy Adkins; a daughter, Vanessa Adkins and two grandchildren. Gora is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Lee (Bonnie) Adkins of Chillicothe, Gora Lee Adkins, Jr. and Sean Adkins, both of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; one niece, Althea (Adkins) Jordan and lifelong partner, Betty Lawless.

Visitation and services for Gora will be 2:00-4:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating the service at 4:00 pm. Interment will be in Wheelersburg Cemetery at a later date. COVID restrictions will require wearing masks or face coverings of some kind, not provided by the funeral home.
