Jo Ann Ramsey

Jo Ann Ramsey, 89, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born June 22, 1931, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Katherine “Kate” Hagaman Adkins.

Jo was retired from the Wheelersburg Local School District where she worked as an instructional aid and secretary at the elementary school. She attended and was an active member of the choir at Central Church of Christ in Portsmouth. Her joy in life centered around her church, singing in her beautiful alto voice and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Ramsey, on June 4, 2001; a daughter, Jacqueline Snider; and the grandparents who reared her, Pearl and Jess Hagaman.

Surviving are her son, Timothy Lee (Bev) Ramsey of Gray, TN; two daughters, Donna Jo (Bruce) Dixon of Grayson, KY and Lee Ann Ramsey of Hamilton, OH; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Peterson, David Lee Ramsey, Jonathan Ramsey, Bekah Ramsey, Jacob Dixon, Luke Dixon, Dasha White and Justin White; and 15 great-grandchildren.

There are to be no services. Contributions may be made to Central Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 1211 Grandview Ave., Portsmouth, OH 45662.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
