Billy J. Carter, 67, of New Boston, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, at BridgePort. Born on September 5, 1953, Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Ralph and Helen Hayslip Carter and was a retired bank teller.
A graduate of East High School in 1971, Billy had worked over 30 years at Standard Supply, formerly active in the Salvation Army and thoroughly enjoyed playing his bass in Bluegrass Bands.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Charles Carter, and a sister, Barb Carroll.
Surviving are his wife, Carla Hamilton Carter, two sons, Michael Scott (Julie) Carter of Portsmouth and Jason Richard (Terra) Carter of New Boston; a daughter, Lisa Conkel o Sciotoville; two brothers, Greg (Carol) Carter of Lucasville and Terry (Ginger) Stephenson of Sciotoville; a sister, Sue Spence of Covington, KY; eleven special grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Travis, Tristan, Seth, Luke, Jaycee, Gabby, Jeremy, Hayden and Abigail and three very special great-grandchildren, Calliope, Zyler and Jaxtan.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Phil Ruark officiating.
Masks will be required, but not furnished by the funeral home. Social distancing will be observed.
