Mary Jane Barrett

Mary Jane Barrett, 80, formerly of New Boston passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Columbus, Ohio. Mary was born December 26, 1939 in Grayson, KY to the late John Clifton and Madge Duncan Clifton. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Barrett July 24, 2013, whom she married August 23, 1959 in Portsmouth; a daughter-in-law, Darla Barrett; a son, Robert Eugene Barrett; a granddaughter, Rachaelle Thornton and ten siblings. Mary is survived by three sons, Virgil Lee Barrett, James Warren (Amy) Barrett and John Clifton (Diana) Barrett; two daughters, Bonnita Louise (Gus) Thornton and Deannda Marie (Jamie) Barrett; two sisters, Ida Fern Stiles and Janet Ruth Martin; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating. Interment will follow in South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service hour. Masks and social distancing will be required per state mandate.
