Mary Jane Blankenship

Mary Jane Blankenship, 67, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at SOMC in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mary was born August 3, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Everett and Betty Thacker Stapleton. Mary was a high school graduate and worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Greenbriar and she was also a Transcriptionist for Ashland Physical Therapy, LTR. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Stapleton. Mary is survived by her husband, George William Blankenship, whom she married August 10, 1990 in Greenup, KY. She is also survived by five sons, Johnny Ray, Rickey Monroe, Spencer K., Matt and Walt Weeks; two daughters, Anna Marie Stiles and Deanna Shoemaker; two brothers, William and Isaac Stapleton; a sister, Phyllis Roach; twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Furnace Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 11:00 am Wednesday until the 1:00 pm service hour.
