Zona Lucille Simpson

Zona Lucille Simpson Age 95, of Portsmouth, Ohio, went to be with the Lord August 16, 2019.  She was born in Greenup, Kentucky to Frank and Della (Hamilton) Green.  She volunteered for years at the Auxiliary Hospital in Portsmouth as well as worked the elections polls.  She was a longtime devoted member of Church of Christ in Christian Union in New Boston.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald and their son, Novle Simpson, her sister, Clotena (Bill) Gordon, and brothers, Frank (Sonya) and Quentin Green.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Jean and Ralph Henson, grandchildren, Kim, Doug (Patty), and Kathy; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Cara (Elliot Sturgis), Jeremy (Meghan), Kyle (Riquel), Blake (Kelly), and Travis.  She was also blessed with 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at D.W. Swick-Nelson Funeral Home, New Boston, on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday which will take place at 10 a.m.  Her final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Fond memories of Zona and expressions of condolence may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
