Joyce Jaunita Varney

Joyce Jaunita Varney, 70, of McDermott, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV.
She was born September 30, 1948 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of the late Grover and Imogene Layton Baber.
Joyce was a homemaker and a Christian.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Varney, May 16, 2012; one son Danny Varney, December 4, 2018; one brother, Billy Boy Baber; and one sister, Becky Holcomb of Vinton, OH.
Joyce is survived by four sons, Joseph (Darlene) Varney of Columbus, OH, Dennis Eugene (Wilma) Varney of Piketon, Brian (Lisa) Varney of Bremen, OH, and Devon (Lindsey) Varney of McDermott; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Nelson Baber of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Patrick Gampp officiating. Burial will be in Vinton-Moore Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
