Tammy Gay Unger, 55 of Otway passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.  She was born on May 17, 1964 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Thomas Fisher Unger and Bessie Louise Unger.

In addition to her mother Tammy is survived by her special friend of over 4 years, Steve Adkins; sisters, Debbie (Fred) Nichols of Otway, Karen (Bob) Mitchell of Indian Hill, North Carolina, Sheila (Doug) Horsley of Portsmouth and Tiffany (Keith) Johnson; special niece, Danielle of Otway, nieces and nephews; Bobbie Sue (Zeb) Stephens, Kimberly (Adam) Smith, Fred (Mindy) Nichols, Tyler Mitchell and Abigail Mitchell of North Carolina; best friend Letitia Lawson Murphy and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.  Tammy was also survived by very special lifelong elementary school friends.

Tammy was an avid poet, gardener, loved flowers and kids and shopping with Tiffany.  She loved and cared for everyone even thru her suffering.  She is at rest. At home with Jesus, absent from the body, present with the Lord.  Loved by her nieces and nephews.  Nephew Fred was really close to her and nieces have many happy memories.  Her sisters and mother Louise will feel the loss acutely, but know she had made her peace with the Lord.  Heaven gained another angel.  Words cannot express the giving person she was.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 2, 2019 at Rocky Fork Community Church, with Josh Powell & Pastor Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Remby Cemetery.
