Ella Meadows

Ella Meadows, Age 97, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at SOMC Hospice.  She was born in the Scioto Furnace area of Scioto County on January 5, 1922 to William G. and Rosa Belle (Conley) Salyer.  Ella worked as an LPN for SOMC and was part of the H & R Block franchise.  She loved to read and was a longtime member of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Meadows of Cincinnati; daughter, Phyllis A. Meadows of Portsmouth; half-brother, Clarence Salyer of Rochester, NY; seven grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; sons, Fredrick J. Meadows and Clyde Meadows, Jr.; daughter, Susann Meadows in infancy; brothers, Milton, Otto, and Herbert Salyer; sisters, Jenny Burk, Darlene Salyer, Florence Salyer, and Arlene Salyer at birth.
