Age 60, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at OSU Hospital in Columbus. He was born February 4, 1958 in Portsmouth to Raymond and Irene (Lawson) Barnett. Jerry graduated from South Webster High School in 1976. He was a terrific mechanic, loved hunting, and playing guitar. He was also a fun-loving Michigan Wolverine fan.
He is survived by his wife, Vernetta Barnett; four sons, Jason Barnett of South Webster, Anthony Barnett of Sciotoville, David (Crystal) Barnett of Oak Hill, and Brent Barnett of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Malissa (Phillip) Fraley of Oak Hill; two stepchildren, Tony Rawlins, III of Wheelersburg and Mercedes Rawlins of Wheelersburg; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry (Laura) Barnett of South Webster and Gary Barnett of Wheelersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Merit Smith officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
