Charles Luther Emmons, Jr.

Charles Luther Emmons  Jr. 93, of the McCullough community, passed away Wednesday, January 09, 2019 under the care of Hospice at Rest Haven Nursing Home in McDermott.
He was born June 7, 1925 in McCullough, a son of the late Charles L. and Louella Covert Emmons Sr.
Junior was a lifetime farmer raising crops and Hereford cattle. In addition, he drove a school bus for the Northwest Local School District for 23 years, was a custodian at Morgan Elementary School for 10 years, and served as Morgan Township Trustee for 20 years.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Warnie, Marvin, and Raymond Emmons; three sisters, Andora Leeth, Mary Lou Thurman, and Geraldine Bowles; daughter-in-law Kimberly J. Emmons; and one grandson, Heath Emmons.
Junior is survived by his wife Betty Guilkey Emmons whom he married August 18, 1948 in Greenup, Ky.; two daughters, Connie (Jim) Hackworth of Columbus and Bonnie Sue (Richard) Colley of Willard, Ohio; one son, Mark (Carla) Emmons of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Richard Colley II, Margaret Ann Elsea, Jim and Tony Hackworth, and Heather Coleman; five great-grandchildren, Nick Elsea, Trevor Staggs, Cayden Coleman, Caysen Coleman, and CeCe Colley; and one sister, Wanda Reynolds of Lucasville.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Gary Brown officiating. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
