Charles Edward Adkins

Charles Edward Adkins, 88, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at SOMC’s Emergency Room.
He was born January 31, 1930 in Scioto Co., Ohio, a son of the late Dewey and Adeline Spradlin Adkins.
Charlie was a retired Crane Operator for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, Owner and Operator of Charlie’s Restaurant, and was an entrepreneur of many other local businesses. He attended Valley Schools and was a member of Miller’s Run Church.
He was also preceded in death by two wives, Ruby Adkins and Katherine Adkins; one son, John Adkins; and one grandson Roger Adkins Jr.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thomas Adkins, whom he married March 1, 2003 in Lucasville; one son, Roger Adkins Sr. of Lucasville; four daughters, Karen (Henry) Smith of Lucasville, Bonnie (Charlie) Davis of Greenup, Ky, Kathleen (Mac) Rhaney of Florida, and Nora (Greg) Hickman of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Miller’s Run Church with Bob Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.
