Gwendolyn May Deere
Gwendolyn May Deere, 88, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Piketon Nursing Center. She was born November 18, 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Elliott Eldridge and Sophia Bundy. On August 7, 1955 she was united in marriage to Andrew Deere who preceded her in death on May 28, 1996. Surviving are a four daughters, Kim Hawk of Waverly, Ohio, Brenda Hill and husband David of Waverly, Sharon Everhart and husband Dwain of Lugoff, South Carolina and Sophia Deere of Blanchester, Ohio; one sister, Eileen Bishop of Ironton, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Eldridge, Betty Beasley, and Imogene King; a brother, William Eldridge; a son in law, Rick Hawk; and a nephew James Maynard.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. R. Michael Denney officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Monday, December 10th at the funeral home.
