Wilma J. Lovins
Wilma J. Lovins, 92, of McDermott, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth following a brief illness.
She was born in Scioto County, February 10, 1926 to Roby and Esther Downey Lovins who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James, in 1977.
A 1944 graduate of McDermott High School, Wilma became a Registered Nurse in 1949 and practiced in area physician’s offices, including those of the late Drs. Mickelthwaite, Chaboudy, and, for more than 30 years, the late Dr. A.A. Melior in Lucasville. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church at Rushtown where she attended for most of her life. In retirement, she was an active gardener, enjoyed reading and playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are two nephews and their wives, James T. and Donna Lovins of Avon Lake and Jason and Becky Lovins of McDermott; three great nephews and one great niece, and many cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted 1p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Rushtown Cemetery with Al Owens officiating. Friends may call 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
