Goldie M. Royal

Goldie M. Royal, known to her loved ones as Sis, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at the age of 82, at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born December 28, 1935 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late James Monroe and Pearlie Mae (Shepherd) Howard. She was a member of Sacred Mission Church where she was very active and was a former Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Most of all she loved being a grandma.
 
Goldie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence Royal; a son, Steven Royal and wife Lisa of Decatur, IL; two daughters, Karen Liles of Lucasville and Lisa Wright and husband David of Lucasville; seven grandchildren, Lindsey (Lance) Basham, Elizabeth (Jarrod) Anderson of Decatur, IL, Tabitha (Dave Thomas) Liles of Lucasville, and Jared (Tiffany) Liles of Wheelersburg, Samantha (John) Turvey, Abby Wright, Aaron Wright all of Lucasville; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy and husband Robert Prose of West Portsmouth. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul Howard and Orville Howard.
 
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Reverend James Benner officiating.  Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.  Online condolences may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
