Lucy Jane Smith

Lucy Jane Smith, 78, of South Shore, KY, went to be with her Lord, Nov. 8, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. Lucy was born in York, KY, April 23, 1940, a daughter of the late Braxton Spears and Lula Peyton Spears. She was a member of Big White Oak Apostolic Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Smith, March 21, 2005, one son, Terry Smith, one daughter, Alice Smith, one sister, Betty Meadows, two brothers, David Spears and Ralph Spears.

Surviving are four daughters, Joyce Smith of South Shore, KY, Nancy (Anthony) Owens of Ashland, KY, Polly Wells of Winchester, KY and Elisha (Lacy) Wells of South Shore, KY, three brothers, Braxton Spears, Ray Spears and Ernest Spears all of South Shore, KY, three sisters, Leota Conley, Delie Clark both of South Shore, KY, Anna Barber of Huntington, WV, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Pastor Robert Coffey and Pastor Larry Wells, officiating. Burial will follow in Darnell Cemetery, York, KY. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday Nov. 10, 2018 from 6 till 8 P.M. and two hours prior to service time Sunday.
