Joseph Michael Runyon
Joseph Michael Runyon, 54, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at his home. He was born Sept.19, 1964 in Portsmouth to the late Silas Edward and Anna Mae Steele Runyon.
A Christian, Joe was a 1982 Clay High School graduate and a former construction worker. He had worked at the former Mill’s Pride and New Boston Coke plant. He loved and enjoyed all kinds of music and enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving Joe is his wife, Laurie Keith Handy Runyon, whom he married June 20, 1992 in Wheelersburg. Also surviving are five brothers, Robert Runyon of Lucasville, James Runyon of Wheelersburg, Silas “Eddie” (Rosie) Runyon, Jr. of Franklin Furnace, George (Linda) Runyon of Alexandria, KY and John (Della) Runyon of Portsmouth; three sisters, Clara (Wayne) Carpenter of Wurtland, KY, Ollie Jane Lozier of Wheelersburg and Cathy Hurt of Portsmouth; his father and mother-in-law, Wesley and Anne Handy of Wheelersburg; sisters-in-law, Leslie (Dave) Turner of Wheelersburg, Lisa Handy of Columbus, Lisbeth (J.R.) Redden of Lake Cormorant, MS and Robin (Bill) Doss of Wasila, AK; a special niece, Debbie (Pat Newsom) Gray; beloved furbabies, Taz and Peanut; horses, Mo Baby and Mac; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Brian Baer officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour Sunday.
