Wilma Jean Barbour

Wilma “Billie” Jean (Chaney) Barbour of Wheelersburg went “Home” September 27, 2018.  Shortly before her departure from SOMC, room 3821, her favorite song by Chris Tomlin, “Going Home” was playing.  Born August 22, 1927 to Geoffrey and Gladys (Mayo) Chaney, “Billie” is survived by her brother, George “Clif” Chaney; her children, daughter Rebecca Derifield and son-in-law Don of Franklin Furnace, their two children and six grandchildren; son, Jeff and daughter-in-law Linda, their two children and three grandchildren; granddaughter, Alisa and great-grandchildren Ashley, Alexa, Alana, and Braedon; grandson, Derek and great-grandchildren Jessica and Kylie; grandson, Shane; granddaughter, Shannon and great-grandson, Aidan.  A daughter, Cindy Jean, died shortly after birth.  Wilma was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Barbour, two brothers, June and Gary Chaney; and a sister, Elwanda.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with a visitation one hour before the service.  Pastor Frank Stidham will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Online condolences may be shared atwww.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
