Dorothy Delores Rayburn, 88, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at SOMC Hospice.
She was born December 4, 1929 in Lucasville, a daughter of the late James Stephens and Verna Adkins Lawhorn.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a proud former 4-H advisor for the Lucasville Hillbillies Club.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Rayburn, May 15, 1995; her step-father, Ken Lawhorn; granddaughter, Allisa Ellis; four brothers, Clyde, Don, Herb, and Bob Stephens; and two sisters, Irene Weber and Mary Ann Weedman.
Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Robinson of Lucasville, Carol (Tim) Priesser of Mt. Vernon, and Karen Rayburn of Chillicothe; three sons, Robert “Gene” (Donna Jones) Rayburn of McDermott, Stephen (Sandy) Rayburn of Lucasville, and Darryl Rayburn of Lucasville; 14 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Carver of Troy, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
