Homer Lee Artrip

Homer Lee Artrip, 71, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.  Homer was born February 2, 1947 in Portsmouth to the late William and Evelyn Adams Artrip.  Homer was employed at the former Empire Detroit Steel Coke Plant for 35 years and he also worked in the Wheelersburg School System.  He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and he is a member of Cedar Street Church of Christ and Christian Union, and is involved with the Priesthood Motorcycle Ministry.  Homer is survived by his wife, Deborah Jane Warner Artrip, whom he married May 14, 1966 at Sciotodale Freewill Baptist Church.  He is also survived by a son, Andy William (JoAnn) Artrip; two daughters, Lori Ann (Art) Perkins and Leah Jane (Wayne) Artrip Knight; a brother, Bill Artrip; a sister Debbie Skeens; seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastors Gary Heimbach, Art Perkins and Silas Perkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Military graveside rites.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service hour.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to SOMC Hospice or Sierra’s Haven.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
