Janet Roe
Age 84 of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Porstmouth. She was born November 19, 1933 in Ceredo, West Virginia to William and Virginia (Flannery) McCoy. Janet was a 1951 graduate of Portsmouth High School and worked as a grocery store clerk and cashier. She enjoyed reading the Bible and cookbooks and thinking of new dishes to make while watching the Food Channel. Janet loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was a devoted Christian and attended Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Wheelersburg. While she enjoyed her time in the kitchen, she loved the Lord and her family most of all.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Sherry Phillips of Wheelersburg; sisters, Sharon (Lee) Riddlebarger of Sciotoville, Dolores (Joe) Grish of Michigan; grandchildren, Blake (Morgan) Howard of Portsmouth, Taylor (Maddie) Howard of Ashville; great-grandson, Jeremiah Howard; brothers-in-law, Marvin Boehm of Wheelersburg, Del Roe of Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roe, in 1994; brother, John McCoy; sister, Judy Boehm; one brother and one sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Wheelersburg with Pastor Matt Hancock officiating.
