Isiah Joseph Johnson, 19, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in Portsmouth. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Oct. 26, 1998, a son of Ricardo “Rick” Thompson of Portsmouth and Amber Niccole Johnson (Shawndu Stanley) of Columbus. Isiah was a 2017 graduate of Notre Dame High School, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He was also a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church.

In addition to his parents, Isiah is also survived by five brothers, Tyrin Johnson and Drake Thompson of Portsmouth, Nathaniel Johnson of Birmingham, AL, and Aaron Johnson and Gabriel Johnson of Columbus; two sisters, Madisyn Reeves of Columbus and Karmah Thompson of Portsmouth; grandparents, Wanda Malone of Columbus, Wayne (Kim) Johnson of Portsmouth and Alicia (Phillip) Barrett of Wenteville, MO., and his foster mother, Maxine Malone of Portsmouth.

Isiah was preceded in death by special cousins, Terrell Johnson and Danielle Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, June 29, 2018 at Christ’s Community Church with Elder Marcus Bendolph officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 10 AM until the funeral hour. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, the family’s favorite charity is Notre Dame Schools.
