Julia E. Birkhimer Adkins

Julia E. “Judy” Birkhimer Adkins, 79, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away from this life on Saturday, June 2, 2018.  She was born October 18, 1938 in Jasper, daughter of the late Albert and Opal Knisley Birkhimer.  Judy is survived by a daughter, Janna Steinhauer and husband John of Piketon; a brother, Joe Birkhimer and wife Elaine of Waverly; three granddaughters, Melissa Gay and husband Michael of Porstmouth, Noele Young and husband Steven of Waverly and Megan Steinhauer of Columbus, Ohio; three great grandchildren, Jake Young, Macey and Michael Gay and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by husbands, William Jenkins and James Adkins, a daughter, Debra Lynn Blakeman, and two brothers, Gordon and Benny Birkhimer.

Judy was a graduate of Piketon High School.  She dearly loved her family and her cats. She was a talented piano player having played piano for many local churches.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home, Waverly with Pastor Bryon Carmon and Pastor Brian Birkhimer officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
