Berlin Elwood Shiveley
Berlin Elwood Shiveley, 86 of Stout passed away Friday June 8, 2018 at his home. He was born December 30, 1931 in Stout to the late Henry and Maude Redman Shiveley. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, a 50 year member of the Rome Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master, a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite and a member of the York Rite, he was also a member of the Sandy Springs Methodist Church. Berlin was a retired truck driver for General Motors in Dayton with 30 years of service. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 3 brothers; Scott, Carlos, and Will D. Shiveley, and a sister Lucille Shaffer.
Berlin is survived by his wife of 55 years; Janet Ruth Lewis Shiveley whom he married March 9, 1963, a son Ronald (Shari) Shiveley of Maysville, KY, 2 brothers; Brott Shiveley of Dayton and Robert Shiveley of Stout, a sister, Lucy Butte of Michigan, 3 Grandchildren; Jennifer (Andrew) Sauer, Heather (Brandon) Workman, Holli (Jacob) Allison, 7 great grandchildren; Caleb and Emmalyn Sauer, Hayden, Reagan and Anniston Workman and Drake and Hayley Allison, a sister in law Eleanor Bivens along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 13, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Greg Cooper and Wayne Harper officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home for 5 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. A Masonic Service will held on Tuesday starting at 8:00 PM.
