DRUGS AND GUNS SEIZED DURING SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTION AND ARREST OF MINFORD WOMAN
SUBJECT: DRUGS AND GUNS SEIZED DURING SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTION AND ARREST OF MINFORD WOMAN
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware announce that a joint investigation involving the Scioto County Drug Task Force and the FADE Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Minford woman and the seizure of drugs, firearms, cash, and property.
On May 30, 2018 at 3:30p.m., drug task force officers, with assistance from a detective with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 657 Carver Ridge Road Portsmouth, Ohio.
During a search of the residence and property, officers seized approximately twelve pounds of marijuana, five firearms, $3400 cash, a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a Honda Rancher ATV.
36 year old Lori Ann Grooms of Minford, Ohio was charged with Possession of Marijuana, a felony of the 3rd degree, and placed in the Scioto County Jail.
Grooms is being held on a holder placed by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and was to be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 9:00a.m.
The case is continuing to be investigated and additional arrests are expected to be made.
The case will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury.
