Ruth Ann Sammons

Ruth Ann (Deemer) Sammons, 78, of Minford, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Care Center in Piketon. Born June 25, 1939 in Minford, a daughter of the late Alton and Garnet Marie Grimshaw Deemer, she was a 1957 Minford High School Graduate and graduate of Ohio University. She was a teacher at Minford Local Schools, South Point Schools and Valley Local Schools where she retired. She was a lifetime member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church and a dedicated Poll worker for many years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Claude; son, Todd (Kim) of Johnstown; daughter, Beth (Ron) Coriell of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Kurt, Scott and Holly, and Carrie (Seth) and McKenzie (Jordan); sister, Judy (Luther) Lewellan of Alderson, WV; a brother-in-law, Arnold Leach of Mansfield, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Keller, and Karen Joy Leach, and a brother-in-law, Paul Keller.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be a Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
