Betty Jean Sapp
Age 85 of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home.  She was born January 18, 1933 in Scioto County to Carl and Mamie (Hayward) Sommer.  A 1951 graduate of South Webster High School, she worked as a Comptroller for Security Central National Bank in Portsmouth.  Betty enjoyed reading, was a great cook, and love spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Sapp; son, Tim Sapp of Wheelersburg; daughters, Nancy Smith of Sciotoville and Sally Sapp of Wheelersburg; brother, Wells (Linda) Sommer of Rutledge, TN; sister, Eileen Crawford of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Megan, Mallory, Jessica, Adam, Travis, Chad, Austin, Alex, and Amelia; and fifteen great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Riggs; and brothers, Charles, Homer, and Howard Sommer.
The family sends special thanks to SOMC Hospice and Community Choice Home Healthcare for the loving care of their Mother and requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given in Betty’s name to SOMC Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor John Coriell officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.   Friends may call on Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday.  Online condolences may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
