Leonard W. Crabtree

Leonard W. Crabtree, 93, of Lucasville, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home.  He was born March 14, 1925 in Scioto County, son of the late Millard and Lydia Crabtree.  On May 22, 1954 Leonard was united in marriage to Virginia Ella Crabtree who preceded him in death on April 17, 2003.  Surviving are children, daughter, Elizabeth Crabtree of Portsmouth, grandchildren, Jeremy (Rhonda) Throckmorton and children Austin and Kayla, and Adam (Amy) Throckmorton and children Elijah, Rachael and Jonah; son, Lester (Sandy) Crabtree of Lucasville and grandchild Nathan; son, Karl (Maria) Crabtree of Waverly and grandchild Joseph Crabtree; daughter, Lyda (Frank) Elfrey of Waverly and grandchildren, Jared Elfrey and son Owen and Audra  Elfrey and children Leah, Hannah, Ella, Kendra and Johnny; daughter, Katie (Andy) Teeters of McDermott and grandchildren, Jacob (Jenna) Thompson and children, Killian and Adrian, Wade (Taneisa) Thompson and grandson Aiden; son, Charles Crabtree of Lucasville; son, Arnie Crabtree of Portsmouth and grandchildren Chris Crabtree (Angie) and children Braxton and Sophia and Cody Crabtree; and daughter Anna (Norman) Forbes of Hurricane, West Virginia; grandson, Casey Crabtree and a sister, Naomi Spradlin of McDermott.  In addition to his parents and wife, Leonard was preceded in death by a son, Jason Crabtree; five brothers, Kenneth, Millard Jr., William, Ferdinand and Milford Crabtree and three sisters, Stella Howland, Sherry Crabtree and Eileen Niceley.
Leonard was a US Army Veteran serving in World War II.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Christ’s Restoration Branch, Lucasville, Ohio with Allen Rose and Frank Magnetta officiating.  Burial will follow in Crabtree Cemetery with military graveside service conducted by American Legion Wm. A. Baker Post 363.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway.
