Nora Christine Horsley
Nora Christine Horsley, 84, of Rubyville, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her son’s residence. Born April 30, 1934 in Middletown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph Ainsley and Carrie Florence Barnes Benner, she was a teacher for 31 years the last 28 of which were spent with the Clay Local School District. She graduated from Ohio University and was a lifetime member of Christ’s Brethren Church in Rubyville. She is survived by two sons, Sam Horsley; Miles (Mary) Horsley, all of Rubyville; two grandchildren, Justin (Ellen) Horsley and Kera Horsley, and two great granddaughters, Emma and Lyla Horsley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Horsley on September 12, 2002 whom she married June 26, 1955; one brother, Rev. Joseph E. Barnes and a sister, Erma Portwood Coyle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Christ’s Brethren Church in Rubyville with Pastor Everett Martin officiating. Burial will be at Universal Cemetery in Rubyville. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
