Ethel Nagel, 89, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Best Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. Ethel was born July 27, 1928 in Wheelersburg to the late Larren and Mary Alice Payton Adams. She was a homemaker and belonged to Antioch Free Will Baptist Church also to Vernon Senior Citizens and DAV Victory Chapter 134 Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Paul Nagel, October 16, 2005, whom she married March 9, 1946 in Greenup, KY. Also she was preceded in death by six sisters, Nellie Fields, Minnie Howard, Mabel Newman, Clara Cole, Winnie Napier and Marie Bates and four brothers, Clarence, Willard, Albert and Carl Adams. Ethel is survived by three sons, Kenneth Paul (Lee) Nagel, Larren Russell (Betty Kay) Nagel and Martin Wren Nagel; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, May 11, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating with interment to follow in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 and one hour before the service on Friday.
