Thomas Joseph DeCamp

Thomas Joseph DeCamp, 85, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at SOMC in Portsmouth, Ohio. Tom was born March 27, 1933 in Afton, Ohio to the late Thomas Lowe and Sadie Irene York DeCamp.  Tom was a Wheelersburg High School graduate; he was retired from the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War and he was a member of First Church of Christ and a member of Western Sun Lodge #91.  He was also an avid Wheelersburg sports booster.  Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, John DeCamp and Bill DeCamp; a sister, Peggy Young and two beloved grandchildren, Anthony DeCamp and Christopher DeCamp.  Tom is survived by his wife, Martha Hensley DeCamp whom he married November 23, 1957 in Hohenwald, TN;  Three sons, Thomas Lowe (Valerie) DeCamp, Charles Weston (Laura) DeCamp and Joseph Ray (Kelley) DeCamp; two brothers, Donald DeCamp and Daniel DeCamp; two sisters, Judith Arbaugh and Rebecca Teagarden; six grandchildren, Nicholas DeCamp, Amanda (Jeremy) Dicus; Ashlie (Daniel) Bailey; Andy (Stephanie) DeCamp; Jarrod DeCamp and Raven DeCamp and three great grandchildren, Matthew Dicus, Hannah Dicus and Eleanor Bailey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, April 30, 2018 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, OH with Pastor Rase Martin and Pastor Sam Cooke officiating.  A Military graveside service and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 pm Sunday, April 29, 2018 and one hour before the service on Monday.  A Masonic service will be Sunday at 8:00 pm.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Tom’s name to First Church of Christ elevator fund.  Condolences to the family may be made atwww.harrison-pyles.com.
